How does an FHC Telehealth consult work?
FHC runs Telehealth in a similar manner to in-person appointments. You book online or over the phone, choose an appropriate time for yourself, and then your doctor will call you within a few minutes of the time you have booked.
We ask that when making a telehealth appointment, that your phone is charged, the sound is on, and you have it near you at your allotted time.
We do have video call options available, for these to work, you must ensure that your email address is up to date on your file at the practice prior to booking.
Do you do the Medicare Rebate on site?
YES! We use a TYRO eftpos machine that allow us to put your Medicare Rebate straight back into your nominated bank account (attached to your debit card). We can refund to Cheque or Savings accounts, but not Credit.
You CAN pay by credit and then use your cheque or savings account card to receive your rebate.

No, the Pathology staff are on site from 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 1pm on Thursday, and 8am to 12pm Saturday.
You can just walk in with your pathology request form at any time during these hours and you will be attended to. If pathology is unavailable, there will be a posting on our Facebook page to inform people.
Do I need a long appointment?
A standard 15 minute appointment should be ample for issues such as medical certificates, prescriptions or simple ailments.
More involved consultations such as care plans, mental health plans, RTA paperwork, work medicals, pap smears and complex or multiple medical problems will require a longer appointment.
Should you require one, simply mention this to the receptionist when you book so that enough time is allocated to you.
Can I request repeat scripts and referrals over the phone?
With the advent of Covid 19, and Medicare allowing the more widespread use of Telehealth as a viable option for simple things like scripts and simple referrals, we are able to offer Telehealth appointments to patients of the practice. This still requires a booking, but you can now deal with your regular scripts over the phone where ever you are.
Please note: New patients will still need to attend an in-person appointment for their first FHC visit, if you are an existing patient, you need to have been seen in the last 12 months in person to book a telehealth appointment.
How do I get a Medical Certificate?
Medical certificates are issued during your consultation with the Doctor. These cannot be backdated, so please attend the practice sooner rather than later. For a regular patient of the practice, you can now book a telehealth appointment for medical certificates.

Your Doctor will usually give you a time frame in which to book a follow up appointment to go over your test results in person.
