FHC was renovated in 2007 to provide our patients with a modern, light and comfortable space in which to attend to their health matters.
You are welcome to take a quick virtual tour through our rooms and better aquaint yourself with the practice.
We run an appointment system, but with a few times to fit in urgent appointments. Please phone the surgery to make an appointment with your doctor. Alternatively, you can make an appointment online via this site, or on your phone via the appointuit app (free download)
Urgent medical problems will be dealt with as promptly as possible.
Appointments are usually made on a 15 minute basis, allowing a 10-15 minute
consultation. We attempt to keep to appointment times, but this may change due to an unexpected emergency, or if the surgery is very busy.
If you feel you may need a longer consultation (eg: insurance medical, pap smear), please arrange this with the receptionist at the time you make your appointment.
All the doctors try to avoid disrupting your consultation with a phone call.
At times, a call from the hospital, a specialist or another doctor may need to be taken straight away, and we beg your understanding. If you need to call a doctor, they will try to answer the call, or ring you back as soon as they can.
If you are too sick to come to the surgery, we can visit your home if you live within the areas bounded by Linden, Warrimoo and Hawkesbury Heights.
Requests for these house calls should be made before 10am.
Nursing home and hostel visits, and any routine house calls for chronic conditions will be carried out by the patient’s own doctor on that doctor’s designated Home Visit day.
Hospital visits will still be done by the patient’s own doctor.
Facilities are available at the surgery for disabled entry, if you have any enquiries regarding your needs, please ask reception.
An After Hours service is provided by The Home Doctor Service.
After 8pm week nights, you can contact them on 13 SICK (13 7425). You can find out more about their service here.
If this is not convenient for you, please ring the surgery during next day's business hours, or in an emergency, contact Nepean Hospital on 4734 2000 or ring 000 for an ambulance.
